Having been a creative soul my entire life, I tested the waters in many art fields upon achieving my BFA including large-scale painting and wedding photography - but the creative process of jewellery making - the fascination for metal manipulation, has continued to hold my focus for the past 18+ years. After art school, and the birth of my son, I was blessed to find a Master Goldsmith with whom I could apprentice and further my skills. My ideology of being the “eternal student” keeps me learning and always advancing my abilities.
Living in the beautiful landscape of the Okanagan Valley of BC, I’m never lacking for inspiration - the plentiful lakes, mountains and abundant wildlife fill my surroundings. Add to this my love of music and words, form and texture - it means there’s always a design mulling around in my head just waiting to be let out at the jewellery bench. This passion and inspiration lends itself to creating more one of a kind and small-run, signature designs (so if you see it on the website, don't delay in making your purchase, the piece may not be available for long!).
I love being involved with every aspect of the jewellery making process -from concept and initial design to hand-fabricated production - to feel that sense of completion as an idea develops from a sketch or notion into something you can wear with pride. Some of my favourite designs come from nothing more than a fleeting idea in the moment - when I simply create with no plan at all, allowing the inspiration & process to dictate the direction of the piece. (My bench and studio tend to look extremely disastrous on those days. But great art comes from messy creation I say!).
